Rabbi Dr. Stuart Halpern is Senior Advisor to the Provost of Yeshiva University and Senior Program Officer of YU's Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought. He has edited 16 books, including Proclaim Liberty Throughout the Land: The Hebrew Bible in the United States; Gleanings: Reflections on Ruth; Books of the People: Revisiting Classic Works of Jewish Thought; and Torah and Western Thought: Intellectual Portraits of Orthodoxy and Modernity (all with Koren Publishers and YU Press). He has lectured in synagogues, Hillels and adult Jewish educational settings across the U.S., Europe and Israel. He is currently at work on a collection of chapters from various contributors on the reception history of the Scroll of Esther in American history.
